how to get started
When beginning a web project, there are items of information that will greatly aid us in getting things started as quickly and accurately as possible. Please try to have as many of the below items as are applicable to you nearby when we are first discussing ideas. Thanks!
If you don't have all or any of these things, not to worry. While they can save some time, they aren't mission critical. The most important things are your vision and our creative talents to make that vision a reality.
The Checklist:
- Do you have a logo? If so, is it in digital format? In what format/resolution can you send it to us?
(What the heck are format and resolution?) - Do you have a currently existing website? What is the site's web address?
- Do you have someone who will be maintaining the site after it is completed? What is their contact information?
- Do you like the original Star Trek or The Next Generation?
Just making sure you’re paying attention… - Do you already have a registered domain name? If not, please come up with at least five variations of your name idea to allow for availability. It should be as short as possible, but still clear as to who you are or what you do.
For example: bobsboats.com, bobs-boats.com, boatingisgreat.com, etc.
(What's a domain name?) - Do you currently have some sort of web hosting plan? If so, please have the information you received from your hosting company ready. If you do not currently have web hosting, we can get you set up quickly and painlessly with a plan that best suits your needs.
(What's web hosting?) - Do you have printed materials that should be matched to the look of your web site? If so, please have copies ready that we can view.
